#220--My family and I went to a Autumn Festival this weekend, and Declan brought home a souvenir--a cob of corn. It's not like it was Thomas the Train, so I figured he wouldn't mind if I put it in the compost. But as I opened up the door to the backyard, he stopped me and said he wanted that, pointing to his corn. I told him I was sorry--I didn't know he still wanted it and I should have asked. So I asked him if it was o.k. for me to compost it. His thinking was coupled with a tilt of his head, and he was quiet for a moment. Then he said, "yeah, put it in the ground again so it can come back to us."
