Skip the Starbucks two mornings a year and you’ve paid for this minimal wear and tear. Additionally, the common myth that you need to warm up your car on cold days before driving it is exactly that–a myth. The best way to warm up a car is to drive it. Idling actually causes more engine wear due to the fuel being only partially combusted leading to build up of fuel residues on the cylinder walls. So keep this world running by turning your car off.
