365 Ways #248–The body never lies

#248--Change is hard. In order to change a behavior, you must produce more energy than you used to maintain that behavior. It's analogous to running. Moving straight forward is easy compared to zig-zagging and constantly changing direction. Truth is, to the degree you fall in any one direction, the harder it is to move in another direction. When you're lunging, you can't squat. You'll fall down. Likewise, if you're a Christian, you can't be a Muslim. You (your ideas) will fall down. And the more energy (i.e. time) you've put into an idea or habit, the harder it is to change. But what if your ideas or habits aren't serving you anymore? What if you're not happy? What if you're not healthy? Einstein said you cannot solve a problem with the same thinking that created it. And whatever ideology you reinforce in your psychology, the more it becomes your physiology.

It may be time for a change.

I started at your very first blog post and am working my way forward. Yep, I am reading them all. I have pulled valuable info from quite a few of them but this post here has been the first one to really hit me in the gut. What you say is so simple and yet so fucking powerful. Oh and thank god you are a great writer, otherwise I would be hating life at this point. You have a great mix of using smart words, smart-ass words, laymen words and curse words.
