365 Ways #263–”Organic” personal care products

#263--The soaps, lotions, toothpastes, and other personal care products we use everyday are a major source of toxic chemical exposure. And even if your products are labeled "organic" or "natural", that doesn't guarantee they're safe. Because the U.S. Government doesn't regulate these types of products for safety or environmental impact, many of the ingredients in our personal care products are synthetic petrochemicals and additives that are no more natural than rocket fuel. So look for the USDA's seal certifying a product is organic before investing your money or your health in it. For more info, check out http://organicconsumers.org/bodycare/index.cfm
