365 Ways #283–Crack a window, I smell something funny
#283--The air inside your car is polluted. And it's not because you had Mexican for lunch today. I'm referring to the phthalates used in the plastic parts of your vehicle and the PBDE's which are used as flame retardants in the car's interior. Both are toxic chemicals known to cause thyroid dysfunction and liver damage. And just like exposing bottles of water to heat, anytime your car is parked out in the sun, these volatile substances pollute the interior air even more. So park in the shade when possible. And roll down the windows when you can. And while you're at it, skip Taco Bell, too.
