365 Ways #303–Are you just a normal Joe?

#303--The Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) for nutrients is based on an average person, and most nutritional experts would say these numbers are far too low. But even if the numbers are correct, you have to ask yourself: am I average?

Is your weight high/low?
Do you workout?
Does your job require hard physical labor?
Do you have any digestive problems?
Do you have a chronic illness?
Do you have any injuries?

If you answered yes to any of the above, the RDA's numbers probably won't work for you. And your need will most definitely be higher if you:

--drink caffeine or alcohol.
--smoke.
--use prescription or OTC meds.
--are exposed to polluted water/air.
--are exposed to pesticides (conventional food).
--have increased emotional stress.
--have a cold or infection.
--suffer from poor digestion.
--are recovering from surgery/injury/illness.
--are old.
--are pregnant or nursing.
--are on a diet.
--exercise intensely.
