#361--Poisonous vegetation typically has a bitter taste. Yet, since humans are born with a taste for sweetness, the bitterness of plants not fit for consumption kept early man away from them. There is no sweet food that grows in nature which is poisonous. Unfortunately, this evolutionary characteristic has been completely bastardized and abused by commercial food manufacturers. Now we cannot use our taste buds to steer us clear of food choices which can damage or even kill us. Indeed, any concoction produced in the locked laboratory of some food scientist turns our taste for sweetness against us.
