365 Ways #363–Farm to School
#363--Studies show that children who are involved in growing their own food have a greater appreciation and knowledge about what they eat. The Farm to School initiative supports this premise by helping kids work with and learn about their food from seed all the way to supper (or lunch as the case may be). And by eating healthy foods which are fresh and picked at the peak of ripeness, children realize that there are veggies beyond french fries which actually taste good. The result is a decline in childhood obesity and an increase in the health of our future.
